About the Small Quilt Auction

An important event in the Tucson Quilters Guild giving activities is the Small Quilt Auction, held every year as part of Quilt Fiesta!

Guild members and friends of the Guild are invited to make and donate one or more small quilts for the auction. Quilts should not exceed about 100” total around the perimeter. Otherwise, your imagination is the only limit.

Guild members and friends may also pick up a “lamentable” — e.g., a loved or unloved block or part of a quilt that just needs some attention to turn into a “lovely” — at the monthly meetings.

During the show, the small quilts will be sold either immediately at the Buy Me Now price or, at the end of the show, to the highest bidder in a silent auction.

All funds raised by the silent auction will be donated to EMERGE!, a nonprofit agency devoted to supporting victims of domestic abuse.

EMERGE provides a wide variety of services so victims have an opportunity to create and sustain a life free from abuse of all kinds. Emerge provides a 24-hour emergency hotline and emergency shelter, access to food and clothing, access to crisis intervention and safety planning. Emerge also provides opportunities to attend support and education groups for adults and children to help them establish a safe and stable life. Services include domestic abuse education and emotional support, individualized case management, and lay legal services. More information can be found at www.emergecenter.org.

Please consider donating a small quilt for the auction to support this critical agency- EMERGE!

Please download and complete a Small Quilt Auction entry form for each quilt you wish to donate. This form includes the guidelines for entering a quilt, as well as contact information for any questions, and a mailing address if you are out of town and want to participate. A completed entry form needs to accompany each donated quilt – there is no need to turn in entry forms in advance.
