The Quilters’ Guild welcomes donations – and we get a lot of great variety.  These donations make up the bulk of what we sell at the “Books and Bits” booth at the Quilt Fiesta.

You’ll find quilt design books, pattern books, technique books, embellishing techniques, and everything from A to Z!   However, our donations are not limited to quilting books – you’ll also find books on sewing, embroidery, crochet, knitting, clothing construction, and more.

Books will be organized in crates, primarily by price.  For example, 25¢ cents for patterns, 50¢ cents for pamphlets or skinny reading material, and $2.00 for regular books.

We’ll also have books culled from the Tucson Quilters’ Guild Library. We have 2,100 titles, and the shelves are tight.  Half of them are pictured at left.  (One of the great benefits of being a Tucson Quilters Guild Member).   We’ve weeded out books with a copyright date prior to 1998. It’s not that these books aren’t great – many of the techniques are still used today, but we need to make room for new books.  I imagine you were born before 1998 but don’t feel old!

The “Bits” part of our booth will include the oddities quilters buy but don’t use, and then end up donating.  This might include needles, thread, irons, templates, marking pencils, and rulers.

We hope to see you in February as you search for all things meaningful.
