Colleen Granger was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area. Shortly after graduating from high school, she joined the US Air Force and ended up in Alaska. She served as a helicopter mechanic for seven years, leaving to have her second child. Colleen has spent the majority of her adult life in Alaska making her home in Glennallen. She went kicking and screaming into the world of quilting in the summer of 1998.
Until that time Colleen was a sewer and thought quilting was pretty much a waste of good fabric.
Colleen is a grandmother, mother, and widow. Through her company, Sew Little Time Quilting, Colleen offers machine quilting services, classes and lectures, books and patterns. Over the years Colleen has been an instructor for the International Quilt Festivals, both in Houston and Chicago, and her designs have been featured in several national quilting magazines.
Her motto is: “If you aren’t having fun, then you shouldn’t be doing it.”
