If you have the February/March 2016 issue of Quilters Newsletter Magazine, look on page 77 and you will see a photo of the Bees for Ethiopia quilt designed by Hope Johnson using sunflower blocks made last year by members of Tucson Quilters Guild and the Guild in Shelburne, Vermont. If you helped with this quilt, can you find your own block?
Here is a story from the Shelburne News in Vermont about this quilt.
The Bees For Development Sunflower Quilt, which Tucson
participated in making. Many quilters joined together to make blocks
for this quilt, under the direction of Hope Johnson of the Champlain
Valley Quilters Guild in Vermont, with assistance from Diana Sammataro
and Evelyn George in Tucson. The completed quilt, designed by Hope
Johnson, will be sold to raise funds for village beekeeping and
agricultural projects in Ethiopia under the direction of Bees For

Reaching Out To The Community
In a single year, the Tucson Quilters Guild outreach programs have donated 461 quilts, taught 90 young people to quilt, donated 82 dressed teddy bears, and donated 1,260 placemats. Click on the image above to watch a 6 minute streaming video account of the Guilds activities. Note: When I ran the video, it gave me an error after about four minutes. I'm working on it, don't know if it's my computer or the video. Let me know if you have a problem.

This is a link to Quilting Badge Work developed by the Tucson Quilters Guild. Our guild had a great time helping Brownies earn a badge in quilting. Some quilters.
