Criteria for judging entries competing for the Betty Hayden Award

1. Entries will be easily identified as competing for this award.

2. Only entries so qualified will be considered. Please be sure to check the number of the quilt you are voting for when you cast your ballot.

3. Ballots will be available for Guild members only to vote for this award.

4. Criteria for judging that may be considered when casting your vote:

ED SERIGHT AWARD

The Ed Seright Award was established to foster better workmanship and to honor one of the most important contributors to the annual Quilt Show. Ed Seright was the husband of former member Jean Seright. Ed designed and organized the set-up and take-down of the annual Quilt Show for many years as well as storage and maintenance of Guild equipment. The Ed Seright Award was first presented in 1994 and has been given to a worthy Guild member annually after each Quilt Show.

This award is given to the individual who in the estimation of the membership submits a quilt to the show that most exemplifies excellence in quilting workmanship.

THIS IS AN INDIVIDUAL AWARD. THE PERSON SUBMITTING THE QUILT TO THE SHOW MUST DO ALL WORK DONE ON THE QUILT.

No group or two person quilts will be eligible for this award.

Ballots will be made available to the membership at the annual Quilt Show and must be submitted to the ballot box provided by the closing of the last day of the Quilt Show. Results are tabulated by the President and are secret until the winner is announced at the February General Meeting. Current members are encouraged to take the time to vote and to be sure to write down the entry number clearly on the ballot provided before submitting it to the ballot box provided at the show. Voting is open to current members only, and each member may vote only once.

The Ed Seright Award is an overall workmanship award so the following criteria should be included when selecting a quilt to award:
