Guest Speaker 2017 Quilt Fiesta!

 

Lenore Crawford, an award winning art quilter and internationally known teacher will be the guest Speaker for the 2017 Quilt Fiesta. Lenore has taught in Spain, France and New Zealand, and she is a frequent instructor at the Empty Spools Seminars. Her quilt, “Spanish Arches” won First Place Pictorial Art Quilt at 2016 Road to California, as well as First Place Art Quilt at the 2016 AQS Lancaster, PA Show. Her quilt “On Winter’s Coming” won the First Place Pictorial Award at the 2009 Road to California Show. Her quilt, “Port of Cassis” won the 2011 Moda Best Wall Quilt award at the American Quilter’s Society Show in Paducah, Kentucky. This quilt is now part of the National Quilt Museum in Paducah.


Lenore will be presenting two lectures on Friday February 17th and will repeat them on Saturday February 18th. Her topics will be: Fusing/Fabric Painting to Create an Art Quilt and Award-Winning Techniques for Fusing Fabrics. She will discuss her creative process from the beginning of a quilt to the end, as well as what elements in a photograph lead to an award winning quilt design.
